It was formed through the merger of the HVAC Professional Committee and the Ground Source Heat Pump Professional Committee following their reorganization. The full name of the branch is: Institute of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, China Association of Building Energy Efficiency (IHVAC). IHVAC primarily consists of a voluntary association of industry organizations and professionals engaged in building energy efficiency, HVAC, and related fields. These include equipment manufacturing, scientific research and design, system integration, construction and installation, operation and maintenance, sales and distribution, real estate development, and construction supervision. The Secretariat of IHVAC is based at the Building Environment and Energy Research Institute of the China Academy of Building Research.. Under the operational framework of the China Association of Building Energy Efficiency (CABEE), the Institute of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (IHVAC) carries out its duties in line with national guidelines and policies, providing quality services as a professional association. It offers recommendations to the government for the formulation of industrial policies and development plans, promotes communication between the government and enterprises as well as among members, strengthens industry self-regulation, improves and refines the industry management system, standardizes corporate behavior, enhances market guidance, promotes technological advancement, reinforces publicity and training efforts, and builds platforms for economic, technological, informational, and trade cooperation within the industry. In alignment with the national "dual carbon" goals, IHVAC works collaboratively to advance the development and promotion of energy-saving technologies in building HVAC systems.
