Journal Introduction "Journal of Vibration and Shock" was founded in 1982. Mr. Hu Haichang, a famous Chinese mechanic and academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the first editor-in-chief. It is one of the national distribution publications in the early stage of vibration research in China, led by a committee composed of more than 40 well-known professors and experts nationwide. Its distribution covers 29 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions. "Journal of Vibration and Shock" is a comprehensive publication jointly organized by the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and the Shanghai Society for Vibration Engineering. It reflects and exchanges the achievements and experiences in the fields of mechanics, aviation, aerospace, shipbuilding, vehicles, machinery, construction, water conservancy, electricity, mining, chemical industry, metallurgy, instrumentation, marine engineering, light industry, environmental protection and other fields in terms of vibration, impact and noise. The content includes papers and short articles on structural dynamics analysis, modal analysis, parameter identification, random vibration, nonlinear vibration, vibration control, rotor dynamics, structural dynamics stability, vibration reduction, damping, isolation, resistance to impact, noise prevention, environmental testing,simulation technology, test technology, signal processing, computer software engineering, and muffler materials. "Journal of Vibration and Shock" is a national core journal in Chinese, a statistical journal for Chinese scientific and technological papers, an indexed journal in the American Ei-Compendex database, a source journal for the "China Knowledge Resource Integrated Database", "China Science Citation Database", "China Physics Literature Database", "China Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database", "Wanfang Data System Technology Journal Group", and an abstract source for the "Chinese Academic Journal Abstracts". It reflects new achievements, theories, methods in the field of Journal of Vibration and Shock engineering in China, as well as research results from projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China,and gives priority to publishing research results related to cutting-edge topics. In 2007,"Journal of Vibration and Shock" changed from a bimonthly publication to a monthly publication. Each issue publishes about 45 papers per issue with an annual publication volume of 540-600 papers; In 2012,it changed to a semi-monthly publication. Now each issue publishes about 38 papers with an annual publication volume of 912 papers. Irregularly every year,it publishes special issues or supplements for excellent papers from various professional committees of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering and academic exchange meetings of the Shanghai Society for Vibration Engineering.
