It was founded in 1982, is published monthly, and is issued on the 1st of each month. Since its inception, the journal has adhered to the principles of scientific rigor, practicality, and informativeness, with the mission of popularization, application, and service. It has consistently followed the editorial policy of "quality-based publication and academic-driven development," carefully planning topics and soliciting contributions. It has published a large number of high-level academic papers, contributing to the safe use of medicines by the public, promoting exchanges among peers in the pharmaceutical industry, and advancing the development of China's pharmaceutical science. It has received widespread acclaim from experts in China's pharmaceutical community. 《Herald of Medicine》 is a journal included in the Chinese Science and Technology Paper Statistics Source Journals (i.e., Chinese Science and Technology Core Journals) by the Ministry of Science and Technology of China and the "Chinese Core Journals Overview" by Peking University Library (i.e., Chinese Core Journals). It is indexed by Chinese databases such as Wanfang Data Systemized Journal Group, Chinese Academic Journal Comprehensive Evaluation Database, Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database, and Superstar Digital Publishing. The journal has received funding from the Special Fund of the China Association for Science and Technology and the Science and Technology Journal Development Support Fund of the Hubei Provincial Press and Publication Bureau. The content includes cutting-edge, hot, focal, and challenging issues in pharmacy, basic research, formulation processes, quality control, clinical efficacy observation of drugs, drug safety evaluation, systematic reviews and Meta-analyses of drugs, pharmaceutical management, and the latest global drug research information.
